CINDY KELLEY
My name is Cindy Kelley. I wear many hats at
Waxahachie High School. In the 1991/92 school year I started as the Program
Director for the Ellis County School Age Parent Education Program. In April of 1993,
I became the Director of the Waxahachie ISD Child Care Center.
I grew up in Anna, which is a small town in North
Texas. My entire K-12 education was completed at Anna (all schools on one
block). Moving away to bigger and better things, I received an academic
scholarship to Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas. In 1976, I
received my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Home Economics Education with a minor in
Art. I later completed my Master of Arts Degree in Education from Sam Houston
State.
I have been in the education field for 19 years. I
love working with the kids. I knew when I was in the seventh grade that I
wanted to be a teacher. Since becoming involved in the school age parent
program and childcare center, I have become more aware of the many challenges
that face our teens today.
I am married and have two wonderful sons who are
actively involved in school at Waxahachie. My outside life revolves around my
kids and their baseball, track, football and horses. I also enjoy working in
the yard and gardening.
