AP English III (Language and
Composition)
Students enrolled in AP English III will
discuss related reading information and share ideas with peers. They will
learn to gather information, develop a discourse, organize details, and based
on their specific audience, control the language in which the whole is
realized. As readers, they will learn to recognize the language patterns that
authors have created and to respond verbally and in writing to these
patterns. Students will analyze the literature that they encounter and
understand how the various parts of a work are arranged in order to create
certain effects. Students will engage in a variety of writing
assignments.... timed writing practice, creative writing, analytical writing,, research writing, and poetry analysis. Students
will read selections from the state adopted textbook.....
