TI-83 plus graphing calculators are made available for student use in the classroom.  Some students or parents may want to purchase their own TI graphing calculator.  TI-83 plus and the newer TI-84 plus and TI-84 plus silver are usually available at such retailers as Walmart, Office Depot, Target, etc.  These calculators usually cost about $100 to $130.  TI-89 and TI-89 silver can also be purchased.  These calculators usually cost $150 and above.  I do not own nor do I know all the ins and outs of using a TI-89.  I am told they are wonderful and great.

Graphics programs available on the World Wide Web.  In recent months, I learned of and have begun using a graphic program called WINPLOT which is available on the internet free of charge.  I find it very useful for making graphs to include in WORD documents for tests and homework.  If you think you will find it useful or if you are just curious, WINPLOT and other graphic programs are downloadable from Peanut Software.
