Resume
I have a B.S. degree from the University of Texas in Home Economics with a concentration in Nutrition and Dietetics. I worked as a dietitian for the first five years of my career. I then went home to be with my three kids, George, Katie and Maddie. Later I worked part time in my husband’s dental office for about five years. Once my kids were in school, I got involved in volunteer work with the PTO. I also served on the Education Foundation board for three years. I found that I spent so much time at the various WISD campuses, that I might as well get certified and teach!
In 2002, I obtained an alternative teaching certification through Region 10 and started teaching fourth grade at Shackelford. I am now teaching dyslexic students at the WNGA and WHS. Currently, I am attending the SMU Learning Therapist Program and am obtaining my MTA teaching level certification.
