Students will recognize, evaluate and prepare for a rapidly evolving global business environment requiring flexibility and adaptability by applying intermediate to advanced technical skills in using the business applications of emerging technologies.  Applications include imaging, desktop publishing, and multimedia presentations.  Students enhance reading, writing, computing, communications, and reasoning skills and apply them to the business environment.

Computer Science I  (AP or Adv.)

    PR: - Algebra 2

Computer Science is primarily problem solving. This course introduces students to computer programming, the process of designing and constructing software. It emphasizes techniques for structured design including programming methodology, algorithms and data structures. It will also cover the topics of control structures, enumerated data types, methods, arrays, and structs. The study of these topics equips students both to construct programs of their own and to understand the capabilities and limitations of existing software. Students will use the programming language Java.

This course is recommended for the college bound student and especially anyone pursuing a math, science, engineering, or business degree.

  Computer Science II (AP only)

PR: - An average of 85 or above in AP Computer Science I

Computer Science II involves in-depth problem solving and is very demanding. This course builds on computer science I.  It utilizes techniques for structured design including programming methodology, algorithms and data structures. Students will incorporate control structures, enumerated data types, methods, arrays, structs, stacks and queues.  Students will design and construct software.  The programming language will be Java.

  Business Computer Programming
