PowerPoint Presentations
Students will prepare and present a PowerPoint presentation of no less than five minutes length and a minimum of 15 slides. The presentation may be on a topic that the student chooses to research on the internet.
Students are given points for the following items:
Opening: (introduction to topic; why topic was chosen; where information was obtained.
Voice: (pitch, tempo, volume, enthusiasm)
Platform Deportment: (gestures, poise, mannerisms)
Organization: (logical, clearly understood, suitable to topic, coherent)
Content: (development of subject matter, depth of research, limit notes on Notes Pages to outline form)
Mechanics: (spelling, grammar, word pictures, pronunciation)
Closing: (summary and conclusion; reiterate most important points)
Effectiveness: (Was purpose achieved--to impress, inform, persuade)
Employment Skills Project
Students will learn to prepare letters of application, resumes, and follow-up letters. They will also learn interviewing techniques, how to dress for the interview, etc.
