Personal & Family Development-Clothing
Students will learn basic sewing skills and the proper use and care of sewing equipment in the clothing textiles unit. The family living unit allows students to explore ways to improve personality by examining effective ways of getting along with family members and friends. Home maintenance, factors affecting housing choices, simple design, and room space arrangements are examined in the housing unit. Information of the safe care and guidance of young children is introduced in the child development unit. Students are encourage to join Future Career and Community Leaders of America (formerly FHA). FCCLA focuses on family, leadership skills, individual careers, and current teen issues.
